[sponsored] Nicka K. NY – nail polishes

Hello lovelies,

I am sorry this post is late, I already wanted to publish it on Thursday, but I got a terrible migraine and took some new medicine which totally knocked me down.

So today I would like to introduce you to the wonderful colorful world of Nicka K. New York nail polishes.

A big thank you to Nicka K. New York for sponsoring the products so I can test and review them for you.

Let me tell you I am in love with the bottles, yes they are easy to hold and very pleasing to the eye. Each bottle holds 15ml of different textured/finish goodness.

As you can see on the swatches, the colors are vibrant and very opaque. I usually apply two coats, even though it’s not always needed. Do you see how crazy shiny the blue one is? Yeah, that’s Dolphin, are real babe.

Let me introduce them to you individually.

157 Crystal Pink

IMG_4388b

Such a pretty pink glitter/sand polish. I know some people don’t like the texture of sand polishes, but I just love them. Together with 159 Crystal Gold and probably all the other Crystal shades, this is a great example for quality sand polishes. And their glitter is just stunning!

159 Crystal Gold

Even though I am not a big fan of gold, this just might be my new favorite. Pictures can’t do this polish justice, that’s how pretty it is!

132 Dolphin

IMG_4385b

Don’t you just love the name of this polish? I know I know I do. This stunning blue polish reminds me of the Caribbean ocean. Clear and deep blue. So pretty.

With this polish I am not sure who she is exactly, since my bottle didn’t have the name tag. I assume it could be 104 Garden Rose. Nevertheless a very pretty rose-pink polish. I like it, even though I don’t wear pink polish that often.

126 Dove

IMG_4386b

A very lovely grey polish. Kinda reminds me of cream soda from Ciaté but then again is different :)

On the following nail art you can see some of the colors. Dove is used as base under the nail foils on my ring finger. Garden Rose is used on my pinky with some shimmer on top to match the whole mani and Dolphin is used on my middle finger. The green on my thumb is #120 tantalized from Revlon.

Last but not least I would like to share every nail polish addicts dream with you.

Dear Nika K Team, it’s my birthday next week and I still don’t have proper nice lamp or chandelier for my nail polish room *wink wink*

Girls, which is your favorite color from the polishes above? I know I would like to own them all. There is such a great variety and the quality totally convinced me.

[Review] Maybelline NY – The Nudes eyeshadow palette

Happy Monday everyone,

today I have a quick review about Maybelline New York’s The Nudes palette.

IMG_3825b

I recently bought the palette for around 10 euro, because I love brown eye shadows and because I wanted to see how well pigmented they are.

The package is super sleek and simple, which I love. I don’t use the applicator though, I always use eye shadow brushes from Shiseido.

In general I gotta say I don’t wear make-up on a regular basis anymore, so I only tried only a few looks within the past 3 weeks, but I am very happy with this palette.

It has a great concept, which arranged the 12 colors in particular order so that you can apply them as followed:

duo

trio

quatro

I always use a primer, which is what I recommend for using these shadows as well, but as you can see on the picture with the swatches, they mostly work well without an eye base as well.

At the top you see the colors with primer, on the bottom I applied without a primer.

The light tones are perfect for me since I have very pale skin. I also love that there is a mix of nudes, matte, shimmers and slight glitters. I can’t even pick a favorite because I really like the bronze tones, the dark browns and the light nudes. Only the black could be of a better quality if you ask me. I am not sure how it will turn out on the lid, but while swatching it seemed a bit chalky.

What do you say? Would you buy the palette? Could this be a good alternative to the NAKED palettes by Urban Decay? I couldn’t say, because I don’t own them^^

I would love to read you opinion. Please let me know in the comments below.

[sponsored] wet n wild

Good evening everyone,

today I want to review the pretty polishes from wet n wild (Website USA | Ger / Facebook USA | Ger), which I got about 4 weeks ago. I already showed you the products on Instagram and am really in love with the colors.

I received:

  • A018 Ferguson Crest Syrah
  • A008 Glowstick
  • 238C Party of Five Glitters
  • 407C Matte Top Coat

Beforehand I want to let you know that I will review their matte top coat separately in a few days. I have a big post about several matte top coats from different brands planned.

Glowstick

I was very curious about the two polishes from the Fergie Collection. They have some real gems in this collection, but especially Glowstick caught my eye. It is so bright and has a nice white pearl shimmer.

IMG_3311b

For the application you should either add a white base coat or add about 2-3 coats, depending hoe opaque you want your finish. It is really pretty nevertheless. Here I also applied wet n wild’s wild shine polish caribbean frost.

Ferguson Crest Syrah is also a very gorgeous color. It is purple with a nice bronze and golden shimmer. I own a few polishes like that, but yet they are all different. This just might be the prettiest of all even though I wished the brush was nicer. I feel it kind of difficult to apply the polish with this brush, so for me there is clean up needed. If you apply it you should also try to apply thin coats and wait a while in between, else you will be left with horrible bubbles. That’s what happened to me when I used it the first time.

IMG_3312b

IMG_3303b

On the following picture I applied it together with Party of Five Glitters, a nice highly glitter polish/top coat. I used the sponge technique to get as much glitter on the nail as possible without having to apply too many coats ;)

Party of five glitters is a nice glitter polish in a clear base. In the close-up you can see that the glitter particles have different sizes and colors, from silver to red, pink, green and light blue. I personally think that there is a bit to much of the clear base, but you can always get a nice opaque glitter result with the sponging technique.

Thanks again to wet n wild Germany for sending these to me.

Which of these polishes is your favorite? Let me know in the comments.
