this time I tried something different, using some of the holographic polishes I own.
Sadly some of the colors are not as bright and popping as I wished them to be.
Here is what I used:
as a base color Catrice – Holomania – C04 Plum Me Up Scotty
Catrice LE Luxury Lacquers – Holomania – C01 Holo Manolo
Catrice LE Luxury Lacquers – Holomania – C03 Holo In One
Catrice – LE Haute Future – C01 Eletrix Blue
O.P.I. – Snowflakes in the air
Catrice – LE Haute Future – C03 iROSEdescent
I applied two coats of C04 Plum Me Up Scotty and let it dry. After that I put two drops of color onto a stamping plate and started applying different length lines of C01 Holo Manolo on each nail near the cuticle, then did the same with C03 Holo In One and C01 Eletrix Blue.
After that I used O.P.I.’s Snowflakes in the air to apply some bling as well-
On the ring finger I used only two coats of C03 iROSEdescent and their new polish 04 Lost ‘N Roses.
What do you think? Is it pretty like that or should the colors, I used to apply the lines, be more bright?

In Berlin it was rainy all day so what better chance to try out a new nail design? Right!
You might not know, but I am a fan of ウサビッチ (USAVICH), which is a series of animated short films originally created for MTV’s Japanese mobile service “Flux” and still being created for MTV Japan by Satoshi Tomioka and his studio Kanaban Graphics since 2006. It is about an odd pair of rabbits imprisoned in a Soviet prison.
I got introduced to this by a friend of mine in Tokyo. She showed me all the episodes of the first 3 season while I was with here in Tokyo in 2010.
Today I realized that they are already done with season 5 now!
I own a few ウサビッチ (USAVICH) good, like a plushie, a key chain thingy (which I use to keep all my USB sticks together) and a shirt.
Anyways, I love this show. It is so funny.

There are a few main charcters in this show. My favorite ones are
プーチン (Putin)
Putin wears a prison uniform with green stripes, number 541. He has his ears tied together and is good-natured. He likes to dance kozachok on his bed. He likes fun but often gets into trouble. He was an honest laborer who once missed a day of work due to a hangover and was sentenced to 3 years in jail as a capitalist agent. However, he enjoys life in prison with its free food and is a master of cooking. He was only one day from being released when he followed Kirenenko out of the cell. He panics very easily, enough so that his face will turn blue, red, and/or white when he is nervous depending on the situation. He also has a very low tolerance of alcohol; a single cup of wine will make him extremely drunk. He is, however, an extremely capable mechanic, able to build robots, assemble cars and disassemble guns, each within a split second.
レニングラード (Leningrad)
Leningrad is an Argentinian Horned Frog found living in the toilet in Putin and Kirenenko’s cell. He does little more than croak, eat Komanetsyn, and defecate the chick out again. He plays an important role in the musical episodes, adding to the rhythm and making Putin gasp, which also happens rhythmically. His mother, Sharapova and her large husband Mikhail live in a far forest. Also, he likes to eat コマネチ (Komanetsyn).
コマネチ (Komanetsyn)
Komanetsyn is a transvestite chick found by Putin while sorting chicks by gender in Episode 2. His mother visited during episode 6 and was eaten by Kirenenko (the rabbit with the red prison uniform). He is repeatedly killed throughout the series, but comes back to life on a regular basis.
Now since you know all about the show, I want to show you my ウサビッチ (USAVICH) inspired nail design.
I had an idea in my mind but while doing my nails, realized it won’t work like that so I had to change my plan.
First my plan was to use my stamping sponges to create self-made nail decals and put them on striped nails.
So I started painting the base of the deacals, so they could dry while I was painting my nails.
Since Putin wears a green striped uniform and Kirenenko wears a red striped uniform I thought I would paint my nails first white and then stripe them either green or red.
I used the following polishes:
White = Ciaté’s PP001 snow virgin
Green = safari nail polish / trendy color in the shade neon green (which my friend Katja bought me a while ago in Poland)
Red = Ciaté’s PP017 boudoir
Kind of looks like Christmas nails :)
But well since I realized that especially the green polish was not very easy to use, it was thick and gluey, and the red also created an uneven surface, I decided to leave it only on my pinky and ring finger and remove the design from the other three fingers.
I re-painted them white and applied the nail decals. Turns out I wasn’t happy with the result either, so off with it and again re-painting my nails white.
For the last try I decided to paints the characters directly on my fingers.
And I think it turned out okay.
The only one I am not happy with is Komanetsyn on my thumb. Even though I used a super thin toothpick, the eye-lashes turned out very thick and weird.
Also the red I picked for his lips was too dark.
But anyways, I am fine to show you the result. It is not totally embarrassing haha

I know I kind of introduced these before in my HAULy friday – three from February, but I realized I did not show the on the nails or even posted a nail art.
So here we go!
C01 Holo Manolo
Somehow a few of the pictures turned out to show the silver holo kind of blue-ish. I am sorry for that, but the first and last nail pictures show the real color.
This is a super pretty silver holographic nail polish. I think it is perfect as a base for stamping.
Basically all of the polishes are great for stamping I think.
C03 Holo In One
When I saw the LE in my local DM this was the color that totally caught my attention. I just love it!
On the nails it reminds me of a day on the beach, sparkling, clear blue/turquoise water.
This is definitely my favorite polish from all four holomania polishes.
C04 Plum Me Up Scotty
Sorry for the bad color quality here as well, following you can see the real color.
This lilac holographic polish looks similar to the silver one, but there is still a difference. The lilac is very discreet but I love it. I think the silver one and lilac one would be perfect for a gradient nails with another polish I own. I will definitely try it once I figured out how to do gradient haha
The silver and turquoise one I already own twice, because I like them so much.
The lilac one I did not get again, it seems to be out of stock everywhere.
For those of you who follow me on instagram, you already saw the following nail art.
I did that right after I bought them by the end of February.
As you can see I used the turquoise one as a base color and one day later got bored with it which was why I used clear tape and the silver holographic polish to create the triangle shapes.
On my ring finger I used Essence stamping polish from the LE Love Letters to create the stamped design.
