Mara’s Birthday nail art month – DAY 1

Mara's Birthday nail art month

Hey lovelies,

I am really excited to show you the first nail design during my Birthday nail art month.

Today I decided for a nice nude glitter design. I hope you like it :)

Polishes I used

as a base I used Sally Hansen’s 160 Shell we dance. I applied two coats to get a nice even base.
After that I used Ciaté’s PP091 – ivory queen to paint the tip of the nails.

After the base was dry I used Catrice Cosmetics Crushed Crystals – 04 Oyster & Champagne to apply glitter on top, then used the almost clean brush to apply just a little glitter on the rest of the nail. Use Catrice Cosmetics new Luxury Lacquers 04 Lost’n roses and add a thin coat at the tip of the nails for a better glitter coverage. Repeat the step using oyster & Champagne again and add one more coat to get a gradient glitter haven more glitter on the tip/top of the nails. To finish off the nail design apply a thin coat of Astor’s Nail Artist Glitters.
This gives the whole design a nice pearl shimmer. Optional you could apply a clear top coat, but I didn’t.

How do you like the manicure? I hope the pictures can show how pretty this was on the nails. I feel a bit of the rose base color and the soft pink and gold-ish glitter color is lost.

Let me know what you think :)

Have a great night, I will be back with a new nail design tomorrow.

[Review] Sally Hansen – two for one – bleach babe & shell we dance

Hey everyone,

as I told you about two weeks ago, I bought the set two polishes for the price of one from Sally Hansen.
I choose number 171 bleach babe, which came with number 160 shell we dance.

Today I want to review them.

First up is “bleach babe“, a nice white polish with a pearl shimmer.
I was pretty worried that this might be just another non opaque white polish. I was wrong. The polish is super smooth and easy applied. The consistency is perfect and the color opaque. I really love it. I think I even like it better than white polishes without pearl shimmer.

The free polish is a bit more tricky. It is basically just a hint of color, maybe enough as a base for your french manicure.

two coats “shell we dance“

You can see this polish is not opaque at all, not even with three coats.
But maybe it wasn’t meant to be…..

Do you see what I mean? Do you own these? How do you like them?

HAULy friday – 22 – new polishes: Sally Hansen 2 for 1, Catrice, p2 & Teddi polishes

Hey everyone,

today I have another HAULy friday post for you. I realized that I haven’t showed a few of the polishes that I had bought over the past weeks, so here we go :)

This special offer by Sally Hansen was all over the internet and instagram. Everyone kept blogging about the fact that they sold a few specific colors with an extra “160 Shell we dance” for the price of one polish.

I decided to buy the white polish “171 bleach babe”, a very nice white polish with a pearl shimmer. Surpisingly well pigmented and opaque!
“shell we dance” on the other hand is a rose color. for my taste not opaque enough. But I will review both of them later one :)

Weeks ago I also bought the p2 match it polishes in white and black. I heard that especially the white one was supposed to be super nice and opaque for a drugstore white polish. I hoped the black on would be too, so I bought this one as well.

As you know, I am always looking for good white and black drugstore polishes with good quality.
So I also bought the two babies.

I bought them before and know that the quality is pretty good for just a bout 2 euro each. My old ones were almost empty so I bought two new ones.

Catrice Le Grande Bleu LE

I don’t know what it is, but the current Catrice LE’s are really not my cup of tea. Haute Future and Le Grande Bleu seemed very similar, which I didn’t really like. Still, the dark blue and light blue effect topper caught my attention. Of course I will review these later as well.

And I also went to my local Teddi (1 euro) shop again because I needed nail wheels. I saw these two polishes and liked the colors, so I bought them. Both were just a euro.

Did you see anything you like? I think my favorite from all these would have to be the white Sally Hansen polish. I just love the pearl shimmer and opacity.

Have a great weekend.
