[blogger cooperation] 4th Advent nail design

Good evening and happy 4th Advent to everyone.

4th Advent

My little Blogger Cooperation with Jule from JulchensTraumwelt is already over, which means Christmas is right around the corner. Did you already decorate your Christmas Tree? I sure did a few weeks ago.
Anyway, what better theme could we pick then the lovely Christmas Tree itself. Since I won’t get much presents this year I also decided to at least draw on some colorful packages for myself.

I hope you enjoy it.

What I used?

  • Manhattan – Glitter Effect nail polish – Jungle Gem
  • Ciaté – PP067 regatta
  • Ciaté – PP099 espadrilles
  • ORLY – What’s the Password?

As you cans see, I mixed up the colors pretty well, always using a different polish for the package itself and the ribbon.
For the Christmas Tree I used Manhattans Jungle Gem and some loose silver and smaller red hexa particles. That’s basically it.
Keep a still hand and be patient. After you are done, seal the design in with a clear fast drying top coat.

[blogger cooperation] 3rd Advent nail design

Good evening everyone and a happy 3rd Advent day.

3rd Advent

I can’t believe Christmas is almost around the corner.
Last week we had our first bit of snow, I wish it would have lasted longer because somehow I am so busy that I am loosing my Christmas spirit right now. I hope that won’t last, because I was looking forward to this time of the year so bad.

Today’s nail design kind of helped to get a little piece of the mood back.
Jule (JulchensTraumwelt) and I Christmas Characters for today’s theme.

I love the little Santa and Rudolph. The Snowman and Gingerbread Man didn’t turn out exactly how I wanted them, but they are still cute I think.

What I used?

  • O.P.I. – Slpine Snow (for all the white parts you see)
  • O.P.I. – Yoga-ta get this blue! (background  of the snowman+p2 040 just fantastic)
  • Ciaté – PP099 espadrilles (for Santa’s Coat and Rudolph’s nose, as well as Snowman’s Scarf and Gingerbread Man’s Bow)
  • Ciaté – PP122 hoopla (Santa’s Nose)
  • Ciaté – PP219 dare to bare (Rudolph’s fur)
  • Nails Inc – 292 prince’s gate (Rudolph’s antler’s)
  • any black polish for dotting the eye’s

I must say the design looks more difficult then it actually it. All you need is patience and a still hand.

IMG_2121b

For Santa I used two nails as you can see, the middle finger for his face and the thumb for his body. First I painted a bit of Ciaté’s espedrilles near the cuticle area of my middle finger. I let it dry and used O.P.I.’s Alpine snow and a dotting tool to create the fluffy part of his hat, as well as the beard at the end of the nail. Make sure to leave space in between so we still have his face to draw on his eyes and a little nose. Tor create his body, paint the thumb nail in Ciaté’s espedrilles. Let it dry and draw on the fluffy part of his coat near the cuticle are as well as a white line all down the nail. Let this dry properly before you draw on his black belt and golden buckle.

For Rudolph I used Ciaté’s dare to bare to draw on his head and ears. For his antler’s I used Nails Inc’s prince’s gate.
Let it dry and draw on his pretty red nose using Espedrilles from Ciaté again as well as a white and black polish to create his eyes.

As a base for the snowman I used O.P.I.’s Yoga-ta get this blue! as well as p2’s old shimmer topper just fantastic.
Let the base dry and use a white polish to create the snowman. Once he is dry you can add details like his scarf, face and buttons.

Last but not least the Gingerbread Man. I painted on one coat of O.P.I.’s Alpine Snow to get a white base and let it dry. After that I used Ciaté’s dare to bare again to dot on the Gingerbread’s body. Let it dry again and add the details.

Of course I used a fast drying top coat to seal in all the designs.

I had a lot of fun creating these cute characters. Maybe try it yourself :)
I would love to see you re-creations with the hashtag #jman2014

Have a great Sunday.

[blogger cooperation] 2nd Advent nail design

Happy 2nd Advent everyone!

2nd Advent

Here in Berlin you can really feel the winter. It dropped down to a few degrees and at night even to minus degrees. The wind is freezing cold and it really puts me into the mood for Christmas. I really hope it will start snowing soon.

Speaking of snow, we are at the second Advent nail design today.  Jule from JulchensTraumwelt and I chose snow and snowflakes for today’s design.

When I think of snow, beautiful white shimmer pops into my head. I love when the sun shines on snow. The reflections totally look like twinkling, holographic glitter polishes. So I feel those are the perfect occasion to use one on top of another to make your design stunning like snow on a sunny day.

Do you remember the Japanese polishes I showed you? The ones my friend sent from Japan for my Birthday?
It included so many beautiful polishes and one of them is perfect for winter nail designs.

What did I use?

  • la Lawish nail color – T18 (from Japan)
  • Ciaté – PP067 regatta
  • Catrice Million styles effect top coat – 02 holo, que tal?
  • O.P.I. – snowflakes in the air

The design is very simple since I didn’t draw on snowflakes, but let the polishes shine on their own.

As you can see I used la Lawish nail color – T18 as a base one each nail except the ring finger, there I used Ciaté’s PP067 regatta. From that point I just kept layering the other top coats. I used Catrice’ Million styles effect top coat at first, then O.P.I.’s snowflakes in the air and again the Catrice top coat. On the ring finger I only used on coat of the Catrice top coat and some cute nail stickers I found at TEDI. Seal everything in with a fast drying top coat and your design is complete.

What I always find difficult is to get the nail stickers to the nail also after putting on a clear top coat. They always lift up somehow. Do you have any tips for me?

I hope you like the design.

Have a great Sunday.
