Good evening everyone,
today I would like to follow-up on my introduction to skin care and fall/winter skin care routine by telling you all about my spring/summer skin care routine. Spring and summer is long gone and winter is right around the corner, so I wanted to take the chance and let you know about the differences in my routine for spring/summer, compared to the fall/winter routine that I have already switched to again.
Like I’ve said before, I have tried a bunch different products over the past years and now have found the right products that work for my sensitive skin.
In this post:
- step by step skin care routine (spring/summer)
- favorite products & recommendations
Disclaimer: advertisement – the following products were bought and paid by myself.
current skin complexion: normal to combination skin with dry areas in the t-zone, also sensitive and prone to redness
If you have read my fall/winter skin care routine, you know that I love japanese products. Sadly those are not as accessible as korean ones, so I started to look into korean skin care products and the 10 step korean skin care routine. I started following it in december 2016 and can say that I have finally found the right products for myself. I order most of my products from Love My Cosmetic.
If you don’t know much about korean skin care, the 10 steps are usually as followed:
- double cleanse – oil based cleanser
- double cleanse – water based foam cleanser
- exfoliate
- toner
- essence
- serum or ampoule
- sheet mask or mask pack
- eye cream
- moisturizer
- SPF
My basic morning routine does not differ, no matter if fall/winter or spring/summer routine. Since I give my skin all the extra attention in the evening, I do not have to switch up my AM routine.
step 1 – cleanser
Hada Labo gokujyun foaming cleanser
step 2 – pre-toner
Avéne thermal spring water
step 3 – essence
COSRX advanced snail 96 mucin power essence
step 4 – serum
INNISFREE the green tea seed serum
step 5 – moisturizer
Beni Durrer 24h cream
step 6 – SPF
MISSHA all-around safe block mild sun SPF30 PA+
The evening routine is what really matters to me. I will use all the extra goodness to make sure my skin gets the extra moisture and care. Of course during the cold days my skin needs more of that, so my spring/summer routine looks a bit different and I do not use as many products
step 1 – oil cleanser
THE FACE SHOP rice water bright light cleansing oil
step 2 – foam cleanser
Bioré baking soda pore cleanser
or THE FACE SHOP rice water bright foaming cleanser
or MIZON snail cushion foam cleanser
step 3 – exfoliator (1-2 a week)
Beni Durrer what a peeling
step 4 – pre-toner
Avéne thermal spring water
step 5 -toner
BENTON snail bee high content skin toner
step 6 – essence
COSRX advanced snail 96 mucin power essence
step 7 – serum
INNISFREE the green tea seed serum
step 8 – sheet mask
I use several different brands
step 10 – moisturizer
Beni Durrer 24h cream
I said it before, during my evening skin care routine I try to really pamper my skin. But since it is not cold anymore and you don’t use a heater that dries out your skin, you don’t need too many products. I only use my trusted favorites that I know work very well for me.
I already explained the steps in my first skin care routine post, so I will not be repetitive here. For cleansing I use my VisoClean from B.Kettner with the brush for sensitive skin, or the BRAUN FaceSpa when I travel. Twice a week I use my favorite exfoliator (Beni Durrer powder peeling) to remove old skin cells and after that I just layer all the good stuff.
Usually I am the one-sheet-mask-a-day kinda girl, but during summer I don’t really need it. I use them 2-3 times a week nonetheless and choose between several different types by different brands. I mostly use japanese and korean brands, such as Pure Smile, Lululun, KOSÉ, Mitomo Japan, INNISFREE, MISSHA, KLAIRS, SKINFOOD, Etude House and Tony Moly. When I “wear” my sheet masks I also add my silicone sheet mask that I bought in Japan. It makes me look like a serial killer, but helps with keeping the mask in place and really helps the skin to absorb all the essence.
I also said it in my last post, I currently don’t use an eye-cream, because I haven’t tried much and therefore didn’t find the right one for me yet. Any recommendations?
I already showed you my favorites in the last post as well, but can’t really choose any different.

Again, I hope this post was helpful, especially if you share the same skin condition and problems.
Please leave a comment and tell me how you liked the post and which products you recommend.
Have a great weekend
