HAULy friday – 36 – LoveMyCosmetic

hauly

Hello everyone,

I am really getting into korean skin care and have so much fun learning and trying new products. Maybe you remember my HAULy friday 34 from december last year, where I talked about my first korean skin care products.

Today I am back with another HAUL, again with products I have bought from Bianca, the owner of Love My Cosmetic.

I hope you enjoy reading.

current skin complexion: normal to combination skin with dry areas in the t-zone, also sensitive and prone to redness

Within my first order I got the main important steps for the korean skin care routine. I didn’t get all 10, but a nice set for the start.

If you don’t know much about korean skin care, the 10 steps are usually as followed:

  1. double cleanse – oil based cleanser
  2. double cleanse – water based foam cleanser
  3. exfoliate
  4. toner
  5. essence
  6. serum or ampoule
  7. sheet mask or mask pack
  8. eye cream
  9. moisturizer
  10. SPF

So what I got back then was the following:

Looking back the past 10 months, I have to say they all worked very well for me and I found at least two products that I can’t live without anymore. The cleanser was a bit stripping, so I might not use it anymore, but the other three are really great. Yet I wanted to try new products as well. I have read so many positive things about Klairs products, so I wanted to try their serum and see if it would be even better than the INNISFREE one. Also, I was still looking for the right SPF for me.

So here is what I got:

At Love My Cosmetic you get 1-5 free samples with each order (depending on how much you buy), this time I got 4 samples.

  • Benton Fermented Eye Cream
  • Benton Aloé BHA Skin Toner
  • COSRX Advanced Snail All In One Cream
  • COSRX Galactomyces 95 Whitening Power Essence

Let’s get into to products and my first impression of using them a couple of times.

TONER – SKINFOOD Premium Avocado Rich Toner – 180ml (19,95 €)

This moisture-rich toner features 10% avocado extract, avocado oil, and essential oils for maximum nutrition. It instantly hydrates and locks in moisture for brighter, healthier skin. It also contains vitamins A, D, B2, and B6 which work to accelerate collagen synthesis for a rejuvenating effect on the skin. The skin cells are regenerated and moisturized for an overall healthier complexion.

Ingredients:
Water, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Fruit Extract, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Propanediol, Diethoxyethyl Succinate, Tremella Fuciformis (Mushroom) Extract, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin, Carbomer, Honey Extract, Arginine, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Extract, Xanthan Gum, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Extract, Anacardium Occidentale (Cashew) Extract, Disodium Edta, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ethyl Hexanediol, Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate, Ceramide Np, Phytosphingosine, Ceramide Ap, Cholesterol, Ceramide Eop, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance,

My thoughts so far: The toner is noticeable more thick than the BENTON snail bee high content skin. I used it a couple of times now and think this will be perfect for fall and winter, which is why I decided to switch up my skin care routine during that time, but more on that in another post on my skin care routine. Anyway, I feel that the toner really does what it advertises. My skin feels deeply moisturized and doesn’t show any reaction at all.

ESSENCE – COSRX Galactomyces 95 Whitening Power Essence – 100ml (21,95 €)

This is my first product based on ferment filtrate, which is very concentrated in this line from COSRX. Galactomyces is the star ingredient in this product, which is this fermented yeast. Like many COSRX products, it has a super high concentration, in this case impressive 95%. This essence works to enrich your skin cells with hydration, giving you clear, glowing, and moist skin. Which is why it is advertised as “whitening” (don’t worry, it’s not actually, but rather brightening). If you have dry, rough, or uneven patches, your skin’s texture will be smoothed over with hydrating and nourishing ingredients. You’ll be surprised how your skin snaps back like a rubber band to its brightest and most energized appearance and texture. Just like the snail 96 mucin essence, it has a clear gel like texture.

Ingredients:
Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate, Niacinamide, Sodium Hyaluronate, Betaine, Panthenol, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Allantoin, Butylene Glycol, Xanthan Gum, Ethyl Hexanediol, Adenosine

My thoughts so far: I was really excited for this products, because I heard and read so many positive things about it. It turned out to be pretty strong (in the sense of very concentrated and caring ) on my skin, which causes overall redness. I will try to continue using it and see if it turns out to be a problem or just a side-effect of the strong nourishing and therefore stimulating process within my skin. I did not experience any break-outs, burning or itching though.

SERUM – KLAIRS Rich Moist Soothing Serum – 80ml (27,95 €)

Another highly praised product comes from Klairs. This serum has a fortifying blend of organic ingredients, including celery, carrot root, and broccoli extract. It replenishes your skin’s moisture levels without compromising the delicate nature of your skin. Klairs recently upgraded the formula of this serum so it absorbs faster. It is rather thick in texture and has a mild refreshing, citrus scent. They say it’s perfect for anyone whose skin easily becomes red and inflamed and needs a calming serum that also won’t skimp on providing moisture. It is also advertised to lower you skin temperature to 1 or more degrees.

Ingredients:
Water, Sodium Hyaluronate, Butylene Glycol, Dimethyl Sulfone, Betaine, Natto Gum, Propanediol, Polyquaternium-51, Disodium EDTA, Centella Asiatica Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Carbomer, Arginine, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Lysine HCL, Proline, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Acetyl Methionine, Theanine, Chlorphenesin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Illicium Verum(Anise) Fruit Extract, Citrus Paradisi(Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Nelumbium Speciosum Flower Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Panthenol, Luffa Cylindrica Fruit/Leaf/Stem Extract, Beta-Glucan, Althaea Rosea Flower Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Cananga Odorata Flower Oil, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Apium Graveolens (Celery) Extract, Brassica Oleracea Capitata (Cabbage) Leaf Extract, Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli) Extract, Brassica Rapa (Turnip) Leaf Extract, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract, Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit/Leaf/Stem Extract

My thoughts so far: When I experienced redness due to the COSRX galactomyces essence, this serum really helped calming down my skin, noticeable lowered its temperature and more importantly plumps and moisturizes my skin. The INNISFREE serum will stay my must-have for this step, but during the cold winter time I will use the Klairs serum.

SPF – MISSHA all-around Safe Block Mild Sun SPF30 PA++ – 50ml (14,95 €)

The MISSHA all-around safe block mild sun is advertised to be the ideal sun lotion for people with very sensitive skin. It uses physical sunscreen ingredients such as zinc oxide and titanium dioxide (instead of chemical UV filters), which makes it the perfect option for sensitive skin types. The formula is effective in warding off both UVA and UVB rays, ensuring broad sun protection in every season. It is lightweight and has an invisible finish, leaving no residue or sticky feeling behind. The formula causes no irritation and is also suitable for children.

Ingredients:
Water, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Butylene Glycol, Cetearyl Alcohol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Coco-glucoside, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, C20-22 Alkyl Phosphate, Squalane, C20-22 Alcohols, Aluminum Hydroxide, Stearic Acid, Polysorbate 60, Hydrogen Dimethicone, Xanthan Gum

My thoughts so far: JACKPOT!!! I have tried soo~ many different SPF products through the years and ALL european products irritated my skin and some even made me break out. I was looking for a product that, obviously, wouldn’t do that and also wouldn’t leave a white cast or too much of a sticky feeling. I tried the COSRX  aloé soothing sun cream, which was ok, but for my preferences had too much of a white residue and sticky feeling. My second try was the MISSHA one and I feel it works great for me. I am really happy with it. My skin doesn’t turn red, nor does it leave any residue or stickiness.

Overall I am very happy with my second order and I hope my first impressions give you an idea of what might work for you too.
