[Review] Bioré Japan in Germany

Hey everyone,

I am back with another jbeauty blog post. I am happy to announce that Bioré Japan has finally released a couple of their products on the germany beauty market. They are available at DM, Rossmann and Müller drugstores and are really worth a try.

In this post:

  • introduction to Bioré Japan
  • product overview in Germany
  • introduction of the products I have tried
  • conclusion: what I think

Disclaimer: some of the products were sponsored by Bioré Germany, this does not affect my honest opinion though

Bioré® skincare is part of the Kao corporation and Kao group Japan.
The Kao group was founded in 1887, with their main fields of business being beauty care, health care, fabric and home care, as well as chemicals. Their main brands in the beauty industry are Sofina, Kanebo, Molton Brown London, Bioré, Jergens, John Frieda and Goldwell. Most of their beauty care products include skin and body care products (such as facial and body cleansers), hair care products (such as shampoos and conditioners), and hair styling agents. They provide hair coloring, permanent wave, styling agents, etc. to hair salons chiefly in Europe and the United States but also around the globe under the Goldwell and KMS brand name.

Bioré® skincare specifically targets the root of all skin problems—the clogged pore. In Japan they offer a wide range of cleansers, make-up removers and even skin care products like masks and patches. In the rest of the world, like in the USA or Germany the product range is much smaller.

Today I would like to give you some insight on the products that are available in Germany.Left to right you can see the Baking Soda Pore Cleanser, Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub, Self Heating One Minute Mask, Charcoal Pore Minimizer, Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser, Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips and the Deep Cleansing Pore Strips Combo.

Besides the Charcoal Pore Minimizer and Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser I was able to try all of the products. HOW TO USE the Bioré pore strips

Remove strip from pouch. Twist strip to loosen and separate slits prior to use.
After washing your face, thoroughly wet your nose. The strip won’t stick on a dry nose.
Dry hands. Peel strip off plastic liner. Apply to nose area, smooth side down, pressing down to ensure good contact with skin.
Let dry for about 10-15 minutes until stiff to the touch—like papier-mâché.
Slowly and carefully peel off starting at edges, pulling toward center.

CAUTIONS

Use only on the nose. Avoid using on acne blemishes or swollen, sunburned, excessively dry skin, or skin prone to spider veins.
Consult physician before using on skin being treated with prescription acne medication.
Avoid using on skin which is sensitive to bandages or peel-off face masks.
Remove strip as directed promptly after it becomes stiff. If strip is difficult or painful to remove, wet strip thoroughly until it slides off easily. Forceful removal of the strip should be avoided and may cause skin abrasions. If this occurs, discontinue use and consult a physician.
Do not use more often than once every three days.

conclusion: what I think

Baking Soda Pore Cleanser
It has a nice texture with a good, gentle cleansing effect – even though I wish it wouldn’t have the peeling particles. I liked the sample so much that I have bought myself the full-sized version too.

Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub
The peeling effect is good and gentle, but it does not compare to my Beni Durrer powder peeling. I do like the Bioré one and recommend it to people who don’t want or simply can’t afford the Beni Durrer one. It still has a good cleansing and peeling effect and that leaves the skin smooth and soft without irritating sensitive skin.

Self Heating One Minute Mask
It was my personal surprise product. I thought it would be too strong on sensitive skin, but actually was working fine for me. Of course, because of the heating effect it will turn the skin a bit red/blushed, but it does not irritate it. It does a great job cleaning the pores and it great for once a week use, even though it also contains small peeling particles to help cleaning the pores.

Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips
I said it in my pore cleansing strip review, these are my favorite ones (from the ones I can get in Germany). They are not irritating for sensitive skin and do a great job on cleansing the pores. If you follow my tips on how to use pore cleansing strips, I am sure they will work wonders for you too.

Deep Cleansing Pore Strips Combo
These work well too, but I prefer the black ones since they really show off all the dirt that hides inside your pores.

I did not try the Charcoal Pore Minimizer and Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser, because they are meant for people with oily skin.

In general I am pretty happy with the Bioré products that are available in Germany.

Let me know in the comments which products you have tried and what you think of them.

Have a great night
