Good evening everyone,
I hope you had great holidays, I sadly have been sick since last week and still am a bit. A good time to try out the new skin care products I ordered around 2 weeks ago from Love My Cosmetic.
Today I would like to show you what I decided on buying and give a little insight in my first impressions. A detailed new skin care routine will follow within the next weeks.
In Germany, most people don’t know about korean skin care routines or their skin care products. Love My Cosmetic was found in 2015 (as far as I know) and focuses on exactly that – korean skin care (and a bit of make-up) products. They sell some of the most famous korean skin care brands such as Benton, Innisfree, Missha (DE), Skinfood, The Face Shop, Klairs, Mizon, Whamisa (DE), Nature Republic, COSRX, It°s Skin, Tony Moly, Etude House and Neogen. From my experience, the customer service is great. After the process of deciding which things you wanna get, ordering and shipping is also pretty fast. Bianca, the shop owner is also happy to reply to questions you may have and advice you on which products are the right fit for you.
So if you ask me, a great way to get a hold on korean skin care products.
Let’s see what I ordered, first up a beauty accessorizes I wanted for a long time, but couldn’t get at DAISO or ドン キホーテ the last time I was in Japan.
There is not much to say about this, other than this is a super adorable headband which even makes my better half smile when I wear it, even though he is not much into cute things.
Since I really wanted to start the 10 step korean skin care routine, I researched a lot and ordered my first staple products. I assume that not everyone knows about the 10 step skin care routine, so I will prepare a separate post to explain and show you my current skin care routine.
But first up, here are the products I ordered:
SKINFOOD Egg White Pore Foam – 150ml (11,95 €)
for dry, normal, combination, oily and sensitive skin – for cleansing and nourishing
SKINFOOD Egg White Pore Foam is a gentle cleansing foam for all skin types, but especially sensitive skin. It includes pore cleansing amino acids, such as albumin for example. It is great for daily use.
My thoughts so far: I think it is a good cleanser, not as drying and oil-stripping as other cleansers I’ve tried. Even though I will also try the Hada Labo Rohto Gokujyn Hyaluronic Acid Cleansing Foam, I read that it especially good for sensitive skin.
for most skin types, including impure, sensitive skin and those dealing with acne or signs of aging – calming, moisturizing, firming
This toner helps to improve the skin’s barrier function, protecting it from harsh environmental factors and helping it retain moisture. Free from alcohol and water. It improves skin texture, heals, balances, and hydrates. No synthetic fragrances or colors.
Snail Secretion Filtrate, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Human Ogliopeptide-1, Bee Venom, Diospyros Kaki Leaf Extract, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Plantago Asiatica Extract, Laminaria Digitata Extract, Ulmus Campetris (Elm) Extract, Zanthoxylum Piperitum Fruit Extract, Pulsatilla Koreana Extract, Usnea Barbata (Lichen) Extract, Athaea Rosea Root Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Betaine, Bacillus Ferment, Panthenol, Beta-Glucan, Allantoin, Azelaic Acid, Adenosine
Top ingredients and what they do:
(information from skinandtonics.com)
Snail Secretion Filtrate – Listed first, meaning it has the highest percentage used in this product. Snail mucin has amazing skin-friendly antioxidants, proteins, elastin, and glycolic acids. It’s also antimicrobial and very effective in wound healing. It is also proven that snail secretion is effective when it comes to repairing photodamage. It’s especially helpful for acne, overall skin tone, and reducing acne scarring.
Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water – Better known as green tea extract, this ingredient has a multitude of studies showing its benefit in the skincare world. Green tea’s active, skin-friendly component is polyphenols, which possess powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It has also been proven to have a prolonged moisturizing effect, reduces skin roughness and improves skin microrelief (wrinkles).
Niacinamide – Niacinamide is a form of Vitamin B3 that works well for overall brightening, lightening hyperpigmentation, and acne. This is a decently documented skincare ingredient. One study even showed it to be effective for reducing fine lines in addition to treating redness and hyperpigmentation
Human Ogliopeptide-1 – Often called EGF (an acronym for Epidermal Growth Factor) in skincare products, Ogliopeptides are molecules that are used in medicine to help treat wounds and burns, assisting in the regrowth of skin. They work by increasing cell growth, and in addition to helping with cell and blood vessel growth, they also play a role in collagen and elastin production.
Bee Venom – The claims surrounding bee venom as a skincare active state that Melittin, a peptide found in the venom, “tricks” your body into thinking you’ve been stung, causing it to increase collagen production to promote healing. Bee Venom also contains a couple of beneficial enzymes. Phospholipase A2 is an enzyme that is said to assist with the penetration of skincare actives. It works by thinning the cell’s outer membrane, allowing other ingredients to penetrate the cell. Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that works by increasing the synthesis of hyaluronic acid naturally produced by our skin.
My thoughts so far: I love this toner! Usually when I thought of toner, I always thought of those with alcohol in them, that irritated my sensitive skin. Which is why I never used them. When I read about the ingredients in this one, I was really intrigued so I had to get it. I was a bit worried if the bee venom would cause irritations, but it doesn’t. Honestly, my skin feels so refreshed after using this toner and prepared for all the steps coming next.
for most skin types, especially damaged, sensitive and impure skin – reduces skin damage
This essence has 96% snail secretion filtrate for super intense repair and hydration. Think of this like vitamins for your face since it’s loaded with replenishing and revitalizing nutrients to help prevent and repair damage, giving you ultimate elasticity and hydration.
Snail mucin has the ability to repair everything from dry patches, to acne breakouts while helping zap hyperpigmentation, so with loyal use your skin will glow to look its healthiest.

My thoughts so far: Again, love it so far. I feel it really does moisturize my skin. I can already see a difference in my skins appearance and I am excited to see if it really makes a different in the long run.
for dry, oily and normal skin – moisturizing, firming and nourishing
This is a moisturizing serum with organic Jeju green tea and green tea seeds that hydrate your skin from deep within! Rich in amino acids and minerals.

My thoughts so far: Again, I think this is a great product. My skin already feels firmer, smoother and softer (probably from all the new products, not just this one). I really do feel I picked the right proucts for myself.
for dry to combination skin – refreshing and moisturizing
This lightweight gel contains 90% snail secretion to provide lightweight hydration with intense reparative benefits. Collagen and elastin strengthen skin and boost elasticity for immediate and long-term results.
Water, Alcohol Denat. , Butylene Glycol , Glycerin , Sodium Carbomer , PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Carbomer, Tromethamine , Chlorphenesin, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Snail Secretion Filtrate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Caprylyl Glycol, Fragrance, Coco-glucoside, Sodium Polyacrylate, Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA, Benzoic Acid, Citrus Unshiu Fruit Extract, Bacillus/Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract Ferment Filtrate, Citrus Unshiu Pericarp Extract, Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract
My thoughts so far: I picked this gel for the morning, especially for summer later on. It is super lightweight and probably a better alternative to the rich 24h creme from Beni Durrer, which I always use at night and during winter also in the morning. But like I said, for summer this could be a bit too heavy. I am curious to see if this gel will give me the same moisture without being too heavy. So far I have tried it a few times in the morning and I liked it.
